| Partner Profile College of the Atlantic (COA) is a liberal arts institution in Maine focusing on education for sustainability and offering an interdisciplinary curriculum leading to a B.A. or M.Phil. in Human Ecology. The College is a strong patron of renewable energy, and as such, has committed to purchase 100 percent of its electrical power from wind projects in the mid-west for use by all campus buildings, including dorms and its two off-campus farms. The College has also installed a wind turbine and solar PV at two of its farms and on campus. By purchasing renewable electric power, the College is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, reducing its carbon emissions footprint, and seeking to serve as a model for other higher educational institutions and the surrounding communities. | |
