| Partner Profile Epson Portland Inc., the U.S. ink cartridge manufacturing affiliate of Japan's Seiko Epson Corporation, was one of the first corporations in Oregon to purchase wind power. The company is currently buying wind power for its Hillsboro-based manufacturing plant. "We really strive to be a good corporate citizen," says Randal McEvers, Epson's Assistant Corporate Secretary and Director of General Affairs. "Epson is involved in the community, and we are continually seeking new ways to recycle materials and reduce our impact on the environment. Supporting renewable power is an ideal way for us to extend that commitment." The company's other environmental highlights include being zero waste-to-landfill since March of 2000, holding Earth Day electronics collection & recycling events for the community since 2001, and, most recently, becoming the fourth industrial campus to earn Salmon-Safe certification. | |
