Harmoni International Spice is a family-owned business established in 1989 and has over two decades of experience as a grower, processor, exporter, and distributor, specializing in an extensive array of garlic and spices. We have a solar-powered warehouse with solar panels on our roof that generates more than 250,000 kWh annually. Since we have a 5,000-square-foot cooler in our facility, we wanted to have solar energy offset our high electrical usage. We also changed all of our lights to motion sensor lighting to increase energy lighting efficiency.
As a company, we fully support the renewable energy development, and we want to demonstrate environmental leadership in our industry by going green. The process of going solar powered wasn’t easy due to the permitting process, but now that we’ve been at our location for more than a year, we are very happy we made the decision to go solar. Not only has our building become more energy efficient and our electrical costs extremely low, we are also very proud to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment.
“The decision to have Harmoni International Spice solar powered was an easy one to make; solar power is a clean, non-polluting and environmentally friendly way to save on electricity usage, and it allows us to support the renewable energy development,” Sherri Zhou, Property Manager
