| Partner Profile Since opening in 1964, the Indianapolis Zoo has grown into a world-class facility hosting a million visitors each year. The zoo empowers people and communities, both locally and globally, to advance animal conservation. In 2008, the zoo began to purchase green power to cover all of its energy usage.
