| Partner Profile Intel Corporation, a world leader in silicon innovation, develops technologies, products and initiatives to continually advance how people work and live. Currently, Intel purchases more than 3.1 billion kilowatt-hours a year of renewable energy certificates, generated from wind, solar, geothermal, low impact hydro, and biomass sources, all third-party certified. In addition, Intel has facilitated on-site solar plants at several Intel facilities. The installed solar capacity is nearly 7,000 kW and growing. Intel's purchase has the equivalent environmental impact of taking more than 455,000 passenger cars off the road each year, or avoiding the amount of electricity needed to power more than 327,000 average American homes annually. Intel President and CEO, Paul Otellini says, "Our renewable purchase is just one part of a multi-faceted approach to protect the environment, and one that we hope spurs additional development and demand for renewable energy." | |
