| Partner Profile Since 2007, Jacob White’s utility green power usage has supplied much of the company’s electricity. In 2010, Jacob White upgraded its LEED Platinum certified headquarters’ offsite green power to onsite wind generation with two 4-kilowatt wind turbines. Jacob White recognizes that designing, building, and operating healthy, sustainable real estate requires a combination of green building strategies: not only energy efficiency, but also conservation and green power. Grid parity is already a reality in part of the U.S., and Texas leads the nation in wind generation. President Jeff Mickler said, “We were surprised by the small premium for green power – just 1% of our all-in cost for energy.” Project Manager Sean Mickler said, “Ten to 15 people stop by our offices in suburban Houston weekly to ask about green energy, especially our wind turbines, the best authentic, meaningful advertising.” | |
