| Partner Profile Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc., a family-owned, ISO 14001:2004 certified company, has been making fine paper since 1819. It is the longest continuously operating paper-manufacturing site in the United States. Monadnock generates up to 49 percent of its own power through low-impact hydroelectric generation, and has invested in renewable energy for a portion of its total electrical load. The drivers behind Monadnock's green power commitment include the ISO 14001:2004 certification and EPA Performance Track program's environmental improvement reduction objectives. "These commitments have helped us to reduce our carbon footprint, as well as promote the importance of choosing to invest in renewable energy sources," says Michelle Hamm, Manager of Environmental Services. | |
