Partner Profile New Belgium Brewing Company, a 2001 winner of the Green Power Leadership Award, was the first brewery in the United States to use 100 percent wind power to meet its electricity needs. New Belgium's interest in green power stems from its desire to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, a byproduct of its beer-making fermentation process. New Belgium decided to buy wind power as part of its environmental strategy and is also generating electricity on-site with co-generation.
