| Partner Profile Oklahoma State University is a land-grant, public research facility located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. As of January 1, 2013, OSU began purchasing 110 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of wind energy, which represents about 67 percent of the university's total annual electricity use. The purchase of wind power reduces OSU’s carbon emissions and environmental footprint while setting an example of environmental stewardship for students, faculty, and staff. "As a premier land-grant university, OSU is dedicated to the stewardship of resources entrusted to us," said OSU President Burns Hargis. "Through its sustainability practices, OSU seeks to more effectively and responsibly serve its university community, as well as the citizens of Oklahoma, our country and the world." OSU is proud to join the State of Oklahoma in taking a leadership position in support of domestic renewable energy source development such as wind power. | |
