| Partner Profile The Oregon Convention Center (OCC) is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, making it an ideal venue for events of any size - from conventions and industry tradeshows to meetings, auctions and private receptions. Located in beautiful and lively downtown Portland, Oregon, the OCC is the preferred destination for many groups because of its world-class features and amenities, award winning customer service, and leadership in sustainable practices. Built with sustainability in mind, the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) has long held a leadership role in green building and other environmentally responsible business practices. In 2004, the OCC was the first convention center to earn LEED® for Existing Buildings certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2008, the facility was recertified at the Silver level and operates with a pledge to continually reduce its environmental footprint, and to educate its staff, clients, and visitors on the importance of working together toward a sustainable future. Along with Travel Portland, Metro, and the people and City of Portland, the OCC has helped to establish Portland, Oregon's national reputation as a premier destination for green meetings and events. Presently the OCC is using 42 percent green power and with recent lighting upgrades, we expect that percentage to increase. Green power is the right thing to do. The investment in a sustainable power supply is very important to the OCC and our regional government Metro. | |
