Partner Profile Since it launched in 1990, Origins has been one of the most recognized natural cosmetic brands. Among the things the brand is most noted for is its long-standing commitment to protect the planet, its resources and all those who populate it. Origins products are manufactured using a combination of renewable resources, wind energy and earth-friendly practices. And recycled materials are used wherever possible. Origins purchases wind-generated power to offset electricity used in its North American stand-alone retail stores. Wind energy is a natural, inexhaustible source of energy that requires no fuel and produces no pollution. By purchasing wind power for its retail stores, Origins will use less grid electricity, achieving a CO2 reduction equivalent to removing 975 cars from the road annually. In addition, by helping to fund the building of additional turbines, Origins will achieve a further reduction in CO2 emissions equivalent to not using 149,920 gallons of gasoline on an annual basis. As a result of these efforts, Origins has been recognized as one of the top 20 Retail partners by the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership as a result of its purchasing of 100 percent green power.
