| Partner Profile On October 19, 2009, Other World Computing (OWC) became one of the first technology manufacturers/distributors in the U.S. to use on-site wind powered by switching its daily operations energy needs over to a Vestas V39-500 kW wind turbine. On-site powered, OWC can partially run its resource-conserving, low environmental impact designed facility and internet operations datacenter on this renewable, non-polluting power source. The self funded wind turbine project is estimated to generate 1.25 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year. OWC chose this commercial model turbine to insure that there would always be adequate energy to keep up with our future growth . OWC made the decision to become a zero-emission company because of the conservational benefits, as well as the future cost of energy. | |
