| Partner Profile Pacific Lutheran University is purchasing nearly half of its power from green power sources. There were many drivers behind the University’s commitment to green power. Pacific Lutheran University started purchasing green power in 2006 as part of its efforts to establish its first LEED Gold certified building on campus, and making a commitment to purchase green power for all LEED building moving forward. In 2007, the student body passed a resolution to increase student fees by $10 per semester or $20 an academic year. This financial commitment allows the university to purchase green power equal to the electricity use of all campus residence halls. The green power purchases have assisted Pacific Lutheran University in reducing its carbon foot print and moving towards its goal of being carbon neutral by 2020. | |
