| Partner Profile Philadelphia University is an ACUPCC signatory institution committed to both the educational mission of sustainability, and the practicing of sustainability within our own operations. The University began with a 10 percent green power commitment in 2011, and has increased that commitment to 15 percent for 2012. Additional green power is under consideration. Overall conservation methodologies are also being implemented campus-wide. “Educating people about sustainability practices is not just a feel-good exercise-it’s an important part of optimizing bottom-line energy savings that building upgrades can deliver.” said University President Stephen Spinelli Jr., PHD. “With this program, we’re going beyond the retrofit to make a broader impact on how our campus community manages energy, ultimately driving greater economic and environmental benefits for the university.” | |
