| Partner Profile Seattle University is a Jesuit Catholic university located in Seattle. The University has been engaged in numerous energy conservation programs since 1986. In August 2006, the University decided to re-invest some of the resulting savings into the purchase of green power. The University purchases wind power to supply a portion of the electricity used on campus. In addition to their green power leadership, Seattle has a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. A joint effort between seniors in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Services and Seattle City Light brought a solar power demonstration project to campus. The solar panels on the Student Center's roof and south wall and the tracking pole-mounted solar array produce enough electricity to power one energy-conserving home for a year. | |
