Sephora NA, based in San Francisco, California, is a beauty retailer with operations in US and Canada. Sephora NA is part of Sephora Global which was acquired by leading luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in 1997. Since its US launch in 1998, Sephora’s dynamic, open-sell atmosphere has evolved by merging the freedom of experimentation and product discovery with the expertise of personal consultants. Today, as one of the premier names in luxury cosmetics and retail, Sephora strives to conduct its operations in an environmentally friendly manner that improves the quality of its stores while simultaneously reducing the overall environmental impact. In that spirit, Sephora purchased more than 5,646,000 KWH of Green Power in 2014 from various providers in 10 US states. Sephora has purchased Green Power for the past 4 years as part of a broader Energy Management initiative designed to increase efficiency, to gain wider control over energy usage, and to accelerate its journey towards Sustainability. In the future, Sephora aims to report on its progress, and hopes to educate its clients, vendors and other partners on both the benefits of purchasing green power & the impact of integrating more environmentally friendly decisions within a retail organization.
