| Partner Profile One of Swarthmore College's student environmental groups, Earthlust, launched a campaign to bring renewable energy to the campus in 1997. The college's original commitment to purchase two percent of its total electric energy as wind power credits, rose to eight percent in 2005 with continued student involvement. Today in 2011, Swarthmore College has combined conservation measures with an increased commitment to renewable energy source development enabling the College to purchase in excess of 95 percent of its electrical power needs as alternate energy credits. It's an important statement of the College's values when students and the administration can work collaboratively toward the goal of cleaner energy for the nation and the world. | |
