| Partner Profile Beginning with a student campaign to bring renewable energy to the campus in 1997, Swarthmore College's original commitment to offset two percent of its total electric power, with wind power credits, rose to eight percent in 2005 and continued to grow as a percentage of electric power purchases. Today, in 2012, Swarthmore College has combined conservation measures with an increased commitment to supporting the development of renewable energy sources. The College now offsets 100% of its electrical power as alternative energy credits including wind, bio-gas and small hydro projects. It's an important statement of the College's values when students and the administration can work collaboratively toward the goal of cleaner energy for the nation and the world. | |
