SWT Design is a sustainable design company that has embraced green power as a way to implement sustainable practices in all of its proposed projects. The employees of SWT Design treat their campus as a “living laboratory” – one that tests and measures sustainable best practices to create evidence-based design approaches.
In 2012, SWT installed 20 monocrystalline solar panels that produce 4,300 kWh of energy per year, enough to power ten of the company's computer work stations for an average 8-hour work day. Additionally, SWT Design is using green power to meet the majority of the electric demand at their facilities. Overall, they see that the major benefit to using green power is that it gives them the ability to educate their clients on the use of alternative energy. As an advocate of green power, SWT Design believes its commitment can inspire others to environmental sensitivity.
“Our success is predicated on being a leader in sustainable design,” said Ted Spaid, Co-Founding Principal of SWT Design. “By embracing and using green power, we are solidifying our commitment to the environment and educating the public of the benefits of green energy.”
