Tate is a multi-facility North American manufacturer of raised access floor panels, understructure components, and airflow management solutions. Tate is a member of Kingspan Group, a group of companies serving the worldwide building industry with a passion for environmental protection and energy efficiency.
The growing concern over the environmental impacts associated with green house gas emissions coupled with rising energy costs and tighter budgets have led to greater interest in how commercial offices are built and operated. Commercial buildings and computer data centers that incorporate design and construction strategies to conserve resources, operate efficiently, and improve the overall work environment for occupants are now demanded in today's environmentally focused built environment. Tate products address these environmental expectations in building by improving the efficiency of mechanical systems and creating a better indoor environment for occupants.
In its own manufacturing, Tate's North American facilities use 100% renewable wind energy. The driver behind Tate’s decision to ‘Go Green’ was Kingspan Group's mission to achieve net zero energy status in this decade and Tate’s own environmental programs under ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
In Tate’s experience, commitment to use green power has not added costs. Transition to green seems to enhance focus on efficient energy management, resulting in an overall reduction in energy used. The other benefits include preference for Tate products in prestigious green buildings.
