In 2005 The Advertisers Printing Co outlined a very important goal of becoming one of the most sustainable fine color printers in the U.S. This mission that began with just a few lofty ideas has now tallied many successes. In 2006 they became the first FSC certified printer in Missouri, today there are dozens. In 2010 they became the 26th U.S. printer to be SGP certified (Sustainable Green Printing Partnership). As of October 2013, they will begin obtaining up to 20% of their energy from solar power taken from an 80+ panel rooftop PV solar array. In 2012 they reached 85% landfill avoidance plant wide through aggressive recycling, down-cycling and material satiation. Also in 2012, Indigo digital offset printing was added to their product offering. This technology is plate-less with extremely minimal paper spoilage. The company has also achieved emissions reductions of 33% since 2009 and just added the 8th Prius Hybrid to their fleet for use in sales and courier deliveries. The Advertiser's Printing Co believes printing can be very sustainable, and sustainability is a journey, not a destination. They are committed to sharing what they have learned with every stakeholder.
