| Partner Profile The Geological Society of America (GSA) is a professional Earth science society with members in more than 95 countries. Through meetings, publications, and programs, GSA promotes the geosciences in the service of humankind. The organization's mission and vision statements embrace “stewardship of the earth” and green power is an excellent opportunity for GSA to demonstrate this commitment in a tangible way. GSA purchases renewable energy credits (RECs), with the help of a grant, to cover the organization's entire electricity usage. Significant energy cost savings have accrued to GSA since the switch to green power. “We are grateful for the local funding that made this first investment in renewable energy possible,” said GSA Executive Director Jack Hess. “The Society is proud to demonstrate ongoing environmental leadership in alignment with our core values.” | |
