Partner Profile
The Ohio State University, located in Columbus, Ohio, enrolls nearly 57,000 undergraduate and graduate students. A 20-year wind power purchase agreement to buy 50 megawatts of wind power generation capacity annually from Blue Creek Wind Farm in northwestern Ohio demonstrates the school's exceptional support of the development of new clean energy resources in the U.S. Following two years of negotiations, Ohio State's purchase, one of the largest single green power purchases by any university in the country, represents 16 percent of the wind farm's total generating capacity. The long-term commitment helps to guarantee the supplier's financial viability and accelerate the development of a planned expansion in Ohio.
