The Town of Superior's Board of Trustees has goal to “…adopt a plan to achieve energy self-sufficiency within ten years.” To achieve the goal to be an energy self-sufficient community, the Town is committed to exploring renewable energy projects and all other financially-prudent measures to offset all of its energy consumption. The Town of Superior has installed solar arrays at seven town facilities. Combined the solar systems installed through the town are equal to 416 kilowatt (kW) and producing between 650,000 to 700,000 kilowatt-hours annually.
