Upper Dublin Township committed to purchasing 100 percent of its power needs from clean energy sources beginning in January 2007. Upper Dublin Township qualified as a Pennsylvania Clean Energy Community on January 9, 2008 when it reached its goal of 200 residents or businesses signing up for clean energy. Currently, the Township purchases 100 percent wind power totaling more than 2.6 million kilowatt-hours per year.
