| Partner Profile The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes the importance of buying green power whenever possible to promote new technologies, encourage new investments in renewable power sources, develop the green power market, and reduce the environmental impacts of its operations. EPA initiated its Green Power Purchase program in July 1999, and is a Founding Green Power Partner and a member of the Green Power Leadership Club. Currently EPA's offices and laboratories use green power for all of their electrical needs. EPA's Green Power Purchase Program was awarded the Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management for 2004. | |
