Varsity Technologies provides IT services to schools and non-profits, and has a long history of commitment to education, community, and environmentalism. Headquartered in San Francisco since 1997, Varsity has deep experience in the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure in schools and offices.
Currently, Varsity Technologies purchases more than 13,000 kilowatt-hours a year of third-party certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) generated from wind. Purchasing RECs equal to 20% of electricity usage demonstrates the company’s commitment to a sustainable and cool world, and complements their existing green office operations and strategy.
VarsityTechnologies recognizes that buying green power helps promote new technologies, encourages new investments in U.S. renewable power sources, develops the green power markets, and can reduce the environmental impacts of its operations. Varsity’s president Patrick Ciccarelli says, “Our green energy purchase supports our core mission to make positive changes in our community and in the world. We hope our investment in RECs will inspire other businesses to support renewable energy and take action to improve the environment.”
