Green Power Partnership
Tools & Calculators
Use the tools below to get more information about the electricity you use, as well as your options for purchasing green power. Once you have completed your green power purchase, you can use the calculators to help communicate the benefits of your purchase to stakeholders.
eGRID is a comprehensive inventory of environmental attributes of electric power systems. eGRID is the preeminent source of air emissions data for the electric power sector and is based on available plant-specific data for all U.S. electricity generating plants that provide power to the electric grid and report data to the U.S. government.
Personal Emissions Calculator
EPA has developed a personal emissions calculator to help individuals (and households) reduce greenhouse gas emissions and take action. Businesses and organizations interested in educating their employees and members about what they can do at home to help protect our climate can also use this tool.
This calculator can help you better communicate your green power purchase to interested stakeholders by translating it from kilowatt-hours (kWh) purchased into more understandable terms, such as an equivalent number of passenger vehicles, homes, or coal plants.
The Power Profiler is a tool developed by EPA that helps you determine the specific air emissions impacts associated with the electricity you use in your home or business.
Green Power Locator
The Green Power Locator provides on-line information about green power procurement options available on a state-by-state basis. Use the Locator to determine what green power purchasing options are available to you.
