Top 30 College & University icon. The Top 30 College & University list represents the largest green power users among higher education institutions within the Green Power Partnership. The combined green power use of these organizations amounts to more than two billion kilowatt-hours of green power annually, which is equivalent to avoiding the carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity use of nearly 196,000 average American homes annually.

Our green power ranking is a tribute to our students and their commitment to sustainability.
- Dave Irvin, University of Tennessee, Knoxville
