Biography

The Environmental Protection Agency's Administrator, William D. Ruckelshaus, today announced that Donald M. Mosiman, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Water Programs for the Agency, has submitted his resignation and will assume a new assignment with the Committee for the Reelection of the President. Replacing Mr. Mosiman as Acting Assistant Administrator for the Air and Water Programs, will be Dr. Robert L. Sansom, presently the Deputy Assistant Administrator for Planning and Evaluation in EPA.

Dr. Sansom served as a member of the National Security Council's Program Analysis Staff and was a White House Fellow, assigned as an Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.

He graduated first in his class from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1964; received a Masters Degree in Economics from Georgetown University in 1965; was a Fulbright Scholar to Argentina in 1965; a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University from 1965 to 1968, and holds a doctorate degree in Economics.

Dr. Sansom has lectured at Oxford and Cornell Universities, the National War College and the University of Virginia Law School. He is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee.
