Habitat Affiliates Improve Homes with Indoor airPLUS

Habitat for Humanity

Since the nonprofit organization was founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has been building affordable housing with, and for those in need. As of today, they have built over 400,000 houses around the world, providing more than 2 million people in 3,000 communities with safe and affordable shelter. EPA's Indoor airPLUS program proudly works with affiliates across the country and looks forward to more Habitat for Humanity affiliates to join in.

Several Habitat for Humanity partners have enjoyed much success with building Indoor airPLUS qualified homes. While they each approach home building a little differently, they all have recognized that the families who live in these homes will benefit from improved indoor air quality. The families who live in Indoor airPLUS qualified homes report fewer negative health effects, including asthma episodes.

EPA's New Home Labeling Programs Webinar

EPA's ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS and WaterSense Programs joined Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and their home energy rater, EnergyLogic , on August 17, 2011, for a Webinar describing the advantages of building to all three of EPA's voluntary New Home Labeling Program guidelines.
