  The Be Bear Aware and Wildlife Stewardship Campaign
This National Campaign teaches Girl Scouts (girls and adults) the latest safety techniques to avoid encounters with wild animals, especially bears. It provides bear avoidance and wildlife safety and stewardship educational materials, instructor manuals, and trainings. The objective is to have adult volunteers train older Girl Scouts who, in turn, teach younger Girl Scouts how to enjoy wildlife safely and responsibly. The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is the private, non-profit partner to the federally managed National Marine Sanctuary Program. Girls Scouts USA Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. (GSUSA) www.girlscouts.org
GSUSA helps girls ages 5-17 build their skills and develop into contributing members of society. There are more than 300 Girl Scout councils across the country and a national headquarters in New York City. As part of the Girl Scout Law, girls pledge to do their best "to use resources wisely." The Elliott Wildlife Values Project, through a nationally administered trust fund, supports wildlife conservation and education efforts for Girl Scouts.
