- Headquartered in Winchester, Kentucky, East Kentucky Power Cooperative is a generation and transmission provider owned by sixteen distribution cooperatives serving 87 out of 120 counties in the state. Currently, EKPC owns and operates six LFG electric power plants in Kentucky. Collectively, these power plants generate 16.8 megawatts of electricity. This renewable energy is marketed to co-op members as EnviroWatts. Completely voluntary, each 100 kWh block of EnviroWatts adds $2.75 to a member's monthly utility bill for a minimum of one year.
