- Highland Energy (N.S.) Inc. is a privately held corporation committed solely to the recovery and utilization of LFG for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gases and creating profitable benefits. Highland accomplishes this by creating third-party certified emission reductions through the collection and destruction of methane contained in the LFG, and by utilizing the LFG as fuel to produce renewable energy. Since 1995, Highland has focused on the development and operation of LFG energy projects and has been actively involved in projects both domestically and internationally. Highland's proven approach has resulted in successful projects in Canada and in extensive consulting and advising to determine the feasibility of LFG energy projects for international clients. Highland currently owns and operates an LFG energy project in Halifax, Nova Scotia and was responsible for all aspects of its development. Highland plans to be involved in a U.S. LFG energy project.
