Description: INGENCO is a renewable energy company based in Richmond, VA that has been building and operating small-scale generating facilities since 1989. The company is vertically integrated in that it: 1) designs and manufactures power generating equipment, 2) develops and constructs distributed generating facilities, and 3) owns and operates power plants. It currently owns and operates 17 plants that burn liquid fuel, natural gas, and/or LFG - with a total installed capacity of 135 MW. INGENCO has also constructed cogeneration plants at customer locations. Over the years, INGENCO has performed product development work in the areas of emissions control and dual-fueling of reciprocating engines using both liquid fuel and gaseous fuels. In the year 2000, INGENCO determined to adapt its unique power plant design to the use of landfill produced methane gas and currently employs this technology at its Cedar Hills facility in King County, WA.
