- The Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) is a joint venture of the governments of Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg, VA charged with the operation and maintenance of the Regional Landfill and recycling facilities for Stafford and Fredericksburg residents. The R-Board is working with Ameresco, Inc. on a 2.14 MW landfill gas energy project with construction expected to begin in October 2006. The electricity generated through this project, enough to power more than 1,000 homes each year, will be sold to PJM (Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland) Power.
