- A division of Caterpillar, Solar Turbines provides gas turbines ranging in size from 1-21 megawatts (MW). Since 1981, Solar has installed more than 100 units in landfill, digester, or other alternative gas fuel applications. The 4600 kW recuperated Mercury 50 gas turbine, with its 39% efficiency and X emissions, is an excellent fit for LFG applications.
