Description: State Fair Community College (SFCC) is a 2-year community college providing training and educational programming resulting in Professional Certificates, Associates of Applied Science, and Associates of Arts degrees. SFCC, in partnership with various public and private entities, is developing a commercialization and training site focused on technologies related to the conversion of waste material to usable energy sources. Phase 1 of the program will utilize LFG to produce electricity for use by the College. Phase 2 includes an energy technology incubator that provides the opportunity for exploration of next generation gasification and other technological solutions for the conversion process, while providing a key educational/training opportunity for SFCC students in advanced energy systems utilizing an on-site lab and a proving ground for commercial partners seeking to take new technologies to market.
