Dalton Site Leader/Production Leader
- Styron LLC is a world leader in the production of plastics, latex, and rubber. They are a new kind of global materials company at the intersection of people, technology, and customers. Part of The Dow Chemical Company until 2010, this company was founded on a unique combination of strong capabilities - marketplace and technology leadership, world-class production assets, and ingenuity. In 2008, the Dalton, GA manufacturing site and the City of Dalton partnered in a renewable energy project that takes gas from a local landfill and uses it to fuel the Styron latex carpet backing plant. Carpet manufacturers have entered into agreements to use latex carpet backing produced with the fuel of LOMAX Technology, the name bestowed upon this renewable energy source process. LOMAX Technology uses renewable energy (currently LFG) to manufacture latex carpet backings, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and assists customers in developing high performance products with sustainable attributes.
