Description: The Town currently operates an active LFG collection system that transfers the LFG to an open utility flare. The Town has entered into an agreement with Innovative Energy Systems (IES) to develop, construct, and operate a LFG to electricity facility to be located at the Town landfill site. The project is currently under construction with an expected start of electrical generation in December 2005. The electricity from the facility will be sold back into the NYISO by IES. The Town is responsible for continuing expansion of the LFG collection system to be implemented as the Town landfill operations go forward.
