- Description
- University of Iowa is working with the City of Iowa City and MidAmerican Energy Co. to transport LFG from the city landfill to a satellite campus, about 6 miles away. The LFG will power two GE Jenbacher 1.4 MW engine generators, equipped with heat recovery. Recovered engine heat will be used in a new hot water district energy loop to supply building heat.
