May 23, 2007 Recap
May 23 - The Forum was made accessible to people who could not travel to Research Triangle Park through an internet-based real-time broadcast on EPA's IPTV ("Internet Protocol Television"). EPA employees in Washington, D.C. and across the country were able to follow the plenary sessions on their desktop computers. The Office of the Administrator's Multimedia Operations and Services (MOSS) filmed the sessions and made the broadcast possible. No numbers exist for the first two days' viewing audience, but 88 people watched the Forum by IPTV on the third day.
Presentations and dialogue continued on the third and final day of the Forum. The official proceedings of the Forum will be posted to the EPA website at www.epa.gov/comptox within a few weeks. Questions about computational toxicology may be directed to Dr. Robert Kavlock at firstname.lastname@example.org
The EPA Science Forum 2008, scheduled for May 20-22, 2008, will revert back to a broader format and its Washington, D.C., location. "Innovative Technology: Key to Environmental and Economic Progress" will be the theme. More details will be available in winter 2008 at www.epa.gov/scienceforum/
