Duke University Project Overview Diagram
This diagram depicts the overall structure of the Duke Children's Center. Project A has the title "Mapping Disparities in Birth Outcomes," Project B is "Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Baby: Studying Racial Disparities in Birth Outcomes," and Project C is "Perinatal Environmental Exposure Disparity and Neonatal Respiratory Health." The work of the Center takes advantage of unique access to a set of databases integrally related to birth outcomes. The three research projects taken together represent a five-level nested study design as represented in the figure, with information and analysis flowing across all levels and between the human and animal studies.
