EPA Awards $2.6 Million in Small Business Innovation Research Contracts
In March, 2005, EPA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program awarded $2.6 million to 34 small businesses to control and monitor air and water pollution, manage solid and hazardous waste, prevent pollution, and ensure safe buildings and drinking water security. The SBIR contracts awards:
Nanotechnology - Six companies will develop a variety of
nanotechnologies that puts this fast-developing knowledge to work for a
cleaner environment:

4. Nanomaterials & Nanofabrication Laboratories (NN-Labs) of Fayetteville, Arkansas
5. NanoScale Materials, Inc. of Manhattan, Kansas
6. TDA Research Inc. of Wheat Ridge, Colorado
Hazardous Waste - Nine companies will develop improved methods for managing hazardous wastes or finding substitutes for hazardous materials:

9. Faraday Technology, Inc. of Clayton, Ohio
