Purpose: On May 9th and 10th, hundreds of the country's most innovative college students will showcase their designs for sustainability on the National Mall in Washington, DC, along with our P3 partners and other sustainable technology developers. This will be a unique opportunity to meet more than 300 university students from around the country who will be exhibiting their designs for a sustainable tomorrow. The winners of EPA's P3 - People, Prosperity, and the Planet - design competition are bringing their projects to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to compete for the 2nd Annual P3 Awards. At the Mall event, you will see novel designs for green buildings, new ideas for bringing clean drinking water to undeveloped nations, innovative fuel cell technologies, and much more.

P3 began in 2004 to respond to the needs of the developed and developing world in moving toward sustainability. This national student design competition enables college students to research, develop and design scientific and technical solutions to sustainability challenges. Support for the competition includes more than 40 partners in the federal government, industry, and scientific and professional societies.
