Purpose: The EPA's National Center for Environmental Research (NCER) is sponsoring a joint progress review workshop for two research areas under the EPA Science To Achieve Results (STAR) grant program. The purpose of this meeting is to provide principal investigators the opportunity to demonstrate progress made since the STAR grant awards and to facilitate interactions between principal investigators. The workshop will feature the research of EPA STAR grant researchers supported under the "Effects of Climate Change on Ecosystem Services Provided by Coral Reefs and Tidal Marshes" and the "Regional-Scale Stressor-Response Models for Environmental Decision-making" grant programs. Presentations of research objectives, study methods and anticipated results will be made by five principal investigators, who will present preliminary results of research that characterizes the interactions among climate change stressors and their relative effects on ecosystem services provided by coral reefs and tidal marshes. In addition, eleven principal investigators will present final results from regional scale models designed to investigate the interactions of multiple stressors on the health of aquatic ecosystems. This meeting is open to all who are interested about this exciting research area.
