Title: U.S. EPA Endocrine Disruptors Program - 2006 STAR Progress Review Workshop

Date: Thursday, July 13-14, 2006
Location: EPA Campus, Research Triangle Park, NC
Contact: Barbara Glenn, EPA, NCER, (202) 343-9721, glenn.barbara@epa.gov
Susan Laessig, EPA, NCER, (202) 343-9617, laessig.susan@epa.gov
Purpose: This workshop will present the progress and results of recent EPA-funded Science to Achieve Results (STAR) research on endocrine disrupting chemicals. The two-day meeting will include presentations by 12-13 STAR grantees conducting endocrine disruptors research on epidemiology, low dose effects, and exposure methods for a variety of endocrine disruptor classes and endocrine-related health measures. Researchers from EPA's exposure, effects, and risk management laboratories will give presentations on the applications of endocrine disruptors research to risk assessment and risk management. Panel discussion and poster sessions will provide opportunities for formal and informal interactions between researchers. The goal is to inform EPA scientists, STAR grantees, policymakers, and the public about current research on endocrine disruption via environmental exposures and create a venue to discuss topics of mutual interest.
