Work of EPA AAAS Fellow Highlighted
Dr. Betsy Van Holle, an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) fellow at EPA, is the focus of a feature article on the AAAS web site. Dr. Van Holle will be in New Delhi, India, November 8-19 to meet with a group of scientists and policy makers from the U.S. and India as part of the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum. She will be discussing her findings as a AAAS fellow at the EPA and her thoughts on how scientists can affect policy decisions. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida researching the habitat invasibility of non-native plants.
The AAAS manages and administers Science & Technology Policy Fellowships in six areas to provide the opportunity for accomplished scientists and engineers to participate in and contribute to the federal policymaking process while learning firsthand about the intersection of science and policy. AAAS partners with nearly a dozen federal agencies, with many congressional offices and committees, and with nearly 30 professional scientific societies to operate the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships, which have been providing public policy education and outreach experiences for scientists and engineers for more than 30 years.
