| Purpose: | This workshop brings together the expertise and experience of the Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units of North America and the Childrens Environmental Health Centers to explore the latest research findings and their practical application in community settings. This workshop is sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency (Office of Research and Development and Office of Childrens Health Protection and Environmental Education), the Department of Health and Human Services (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry of the Centers for Disease Control and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences) and the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics in recognition of ten years of federal effort to protect childrens environmental health as called for in Executive Order 13045, Protection of Children from Environmental Health Risks and Safety Risks. This anniversary provides the childrens environmental health community with an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made and to formulate our vision for the future of childrens environmental health.
