Title: Zero Waste Biodiesel: Using Glycerin and Biomass to Create Renewable Energy
University of California – Riverside students will create a combustible alternative form of energy derived from glycerin. Glycerin is a byproduct of biodiesel creation from vegetable oil and with the surging popularity of biodiesel has flooded the market with excess glycerin. The group will create a useful product that combines glycerin with sawdust or used paper, is combustible, and is carbon neutral.
