Title: Treatment and Reuse of Urban Storm Water with a Customized Constructed Wetland
University of Hawaii at Manoa students will design and build a storm water wetland using native Hawaiian plants. Storm water runoff is a major contributor to water pollution and complicates many wastewater treatment plants. This wetland will be the first phase in the creation of a more complex construction that will be able to handle multiple wastewater sources.
